Martedì 1° novembre alle ore 15.30 appuntamento al Cimitero, dove ci troveremo per la benedizione delle tombe e la celebrazione della Santa Messa.
INDULGENZA PLENARIA PER I DEFUNTI
Aiutiamo i nostri cari defunti a liberarsi al più presto dalle sofferenze del purgatorio, lucrando per loro l’indulgenza plenaria, che la Misericordia di Dio, tramite la Chiesa, concede in questi giorni. Di seguito notizie sull’indulgenza e modalità per lucrarle.
L’INDULGENZA PLENARIA PER I DEFUNTI
A. Dal mezzogiorno del 1° novembre a tutto il 2 novembre si può lucrare, una sola volta, l’indulgenza plenaria, applicabile solo ai defunti, visitando una chiesa e recitando un Padre Nostro e un Credo.
Si devono adempiere inoltre tre condizioni:
1. confessione sacramentale; si richiede che sia escluso qualsiasi affetto al peccato anche veniale;
2. comunione Eucaristica;
3. Preghiera secondo le intenzioni del Santo Padre (per esempio, un Padre Nostro e un’Ave Maria).
Le tre condizioni possono essere adempiute parecchi giorni prima o dopo; tuttavia conviene che la comunione e la preghiera secondo le intenzioni del sommo pontefice siano fatte nello stesso giorno, in cui si visita la chiesa.
B. Inoltre, nei giorni 1-8 novembre i fedeli che visitano il cimitero e pregano anche solo mentalmente per i defunti, possono lucrare una volta al giorno l’indulgenza plenaria (applicabile solo ai defunti) alle condizioni di cui sopra.
L’INDULGENZA
L’indulgenza è la remissione dinanzi a Dio della pena temporale per i peccati, già rimessi quanto alla colpa, che il fedele, debitamente disposto e a determinate condizioni, acquista per intervento della chiesa, la quale, come ministra della redenzione, autoritativamente dispensa ed applica il tesoro delle soddisfazioni di Cristo e dei santi.
L’indulgenza è parziale o plenaria secondo che libera in parte o in tutto dalla pena temporale dovuta per i peccati.
La teologia cattolica insegna che ogni nostro peccato ha una duplice conseguenza: genera una colpa e comporta una pena.
Mentre la colpa, che possiamo concepire come la rottura o il deturpamento dell’amicizia con Dio, è rimessa dall’assoluzione sacramentale nella confessione, (attraverso la quale Dio cancella l’offesa ricevuta), la pena permane anche oltre l’assoluzione.
La pena temporale non è da concepire come una vendetta di Dio, ma come il tempo necessario a noi per rigenerare la nostra capacità di amare Dio sopra ogni cosa. Questa pena temporale esige d’essere compiuta in questa vita come riparazione, o in Purgatorio come purificazione. Elenchiamo alcuni mezzi di purificazione che, nel cammino tereno, facilitano il cammino verso la santità: le varie prove e la sofferenza stessa, l’impegno nelle opere di carità, la preghiera, le varie pratiche di penitenza e, non ultimo, l’acquisto delle indulgenze. Ma poiché difficilmente in questa vita riusciremo a giungere alla perfezione, la Giustizia Divina prevede un tempo di purificazione anche dopo la nostra morte, nel Purgatorio. Leggiamo nel Catechismo: “Coloro che muoiono nell’amicizia di Dio, ma imperfettamente purificati, benché sicuri della propria salvezza eterna, vengono sottoposti, dopo la morte, ad una purificazione, al fine di ottenere la santità necessaria per entrare nella gioia di Dio”.
