Da qualche giorno la cronaca si occupa dei disordini e della protesta di centinaia di extracomunitari a Rosarno e nella piana di Gioia Tauro. Dopo il ferimento di alcuni immigrati è scoppiata una violenta rivolta.
Provocati hanno reagito con rabbia, in modo sproporzionato, distruggendo auto, cassonetti e ringhiere di abitazioni private. Hanno certamente ragione molti abitanti di Rosarno, colpiti in modo indiscriminato, ma ora troppo facilmente si afferma che gli immigrati sono violenti e quindi devono tornare nei loro paesi. Infatti, sono stati immediatamente allontanati. Persino nei palazzi del potere si parla di eccessiva “tolleranza”. In realtà dietro la violenza, mai condivisibile, si nascondono soprusi, ingiustizia, sfruttamento, condizioni di vita disumane.
Ma chi sono i protagonisti di questa brutta storia?
Uomini che vivono come bestie, peggio di alcune bestioline coccolate, in mezzo a fango e topi, senza acqua, senza luce, senza servizi igienici; dormono su letti di cartone, ammassati in vecchi capannoni o fabbriche abbandonate; lavorano per dodici/quattordici ore al giorno, raccogliendo, stagione dopo stagione, arance olive uva o pomodori; in una Calabria dove lo sfruttamento è largamente diffuso lavorano in nero per venti euro al giorno, di cui cinque vanno ai “caporali” che procurano il lavoro.
Fuggono dalla miseria e lavorano come schiavi per sfamarsi. Sono africani, “ultimi” ma, come ci ricorda il papa, “hanno gli stessi diritti di tutti” e sono “persone da rispettare”.
In questa triste vicenda i cattivi non sono i neri allontanati e senza futuro, ma quelli che hanno chiuso gli occhi per non vedere il degrado raggiunto da questi disperati, costretti a lavori che nessuno vuol fare e rinchiusi in tuguri indecenti e malsani.
Da Rosarno esce una brutta immagine dell’occidente cosiddetto “civile”. Cosa ne pensi?

Condivido tutto l’articolo, un pò meno quell’antica colpa dell’”occidente civile”, perchè se l’integrazione di chi ha bisogno è senza dubbio un impegno morale delle nostre società sviluppate, non possiamo però tacere su chi, istituzioni a vario livello della nostra Calabria, avrebbe dovuto impedire tutto ciò e colpevolmente non l’ha fatto.
piena solidarietà agli immigrati sfruttati per anni e poi costretti a fuggire… e pensare che a due passi da Rosarno ci sono due laboratori di vera integrazione quali Caulonia e Riace…La Calabria da questa storia ne esce davvero male.
